FEMALE - 17 - GIFTED - KATY PERRY
[/blockquote]
BASICALLY…
Name:[/b] Charlotte Andrews
Nickname:[/b] Charlie. Twitch. Charmander.
Gender:[/b] Chickadee! That means she’s a girl for all you not in on Charlie-lingo.
Species:[/b] Gifted (and proud!).
Age:[/b] 17 years young!
Sexuality:[/b] She def. goes for the guys.
JUDGING A BOOK BY ITS COVER
Face Claim: [/b] The fact that she looks so much like Katy Perry is a HUGE deal to her. “Katy Perry is a goddess of music,” Charlotte says.
Hair:[/b] Black. Very very dark. She likes changing it up. Sometimes she feels invisible even when she really isn’t. What better way to get people to notice you than by doing crazy things with your hair?
Eyes:[/b] Light green. She likes eye makeup so she’s usually sporting lots of mascara and eye shadow.
Height & Build:[/b] 5’8” which Charlotte feels is way too tall but she’s got such a lovely figure, she doesn’t mind the height so much.
Special Traits:[/b] As previously mentioned, her sometimes crazy hair. She also has this tendency to make only parts of her invisible. She likes freaking people out.
DEEP DARK SECRETS
Personality: [/b]
Obnoxious describes Charlotte pretty well. Before her powers, she was quiet and bookish. Weird how suddenly being gifted can change somebody. It was just that Charlotte realized how boring she was. When she finally got the invisibility down pat, she thought why the hell can’t I do what I want? Being invisible meant she could get away with something EVERY time. There was no catching her if they couldn’t see her. Since she mastered the ability, Charlotte’s been, in one word, obnoxious.
At least she tones it down at school. Charlotte realizes there are tougher meaner people at school. Gifted and vampires that could take her down in seconds. Best to mellow out around them, lest they get annoyed with her and just go cray-cray. Being invisible in a fight really wouldn’t even help her. If she does get hit, it hurts. Like a bitch. Like way worse than usual. It might be because she never expects it. She whole heartedly believes that, because she’s invisible, people can’t see her and so they can’t hit her. And when they do? Well, fuck, ow.
She’s outrageously optimistic and hugely loyal. You make friends with Charlotte and you can bet she’ll be there for you. For everything and anything. A fight, post breakup, family troubles, studying. Because she always sees the glass as half full, she’s pretty cheery about whatever it is that’s going on. Even if it is some big dangerous deal that could get her in trouble or in the hospital. It’s a bit stupid of her, really, but she sees no point in being pessimistic or seeing the world in any other sort of light.
One more thing about Charlotte is that she likes talking. She talks about everything she can, anything she wants, even if she hasn’t a clue about the topic. Usually, she keeps her talking to things she gets like soaps with lots of twists, Doctor Who, and plants. Yeah, she likes plants. Has a flower garden at home. Charlotte doesn’t even realize when she goes off on rants. It takes a long hard stare before she finally notices she’s been talking for two minutes about something nobody cares about. She tends to turn invisible after this, due to embarrassment.
Likes: [/b]
oranges, sleep, attending movie premieres, all nighters, when books on the required reading list aren’t actually that bad, every shade of blue, the colors green and gold together, being invisible, getting into new things, autumn, cheesy pick up lines, six flags, big crowds, cloudy days, jewelry
Dislikes: [/b]
the word ‘mutant,’ summer, the sun, heat, nuts, deadlines, when people assume she’s weak because she’s a girl, sneezing, waking up, mornings, headaches, long car rides, weddings, romantic comedy movies, boring places like museums and art galleries
Strengths: [/b]
places that are kind of camouflage-y (makes being invisible easier), sneaking, controlling her temper, listening, she’s a quick learner, unbiased, making something out of nothing (usually food)
Weaknesses: [/b]
small spaces, thunderstorms, pressure (she can’t do anything with it), she’s actually terrible at taking a hit, most things having to do with strength (particularly upper arm), challenges (she’ll go for ‘em even if she’s sure to lose), people playing with her hair (seriously, she goes weak in the knees)
HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS
Hometown: [/b] Surprise, Arizona.
Parents: [/b]
Marvelous mum named Margaret who makes my life totally magnificent.
Darling dad named Drew who makes damn near everything just dandy.
Siblings: [/b]
A totally annoying little brother. His name is James but he refuses to go by anything but Jamie. Little weirdo, he is. But Charlotte adores him, of course.
History: [/b]
First of all, Charlotte wants you to know that she lived in Surprise. She did NOT live in Phoenix, thank you very much. Everybody always assumes these places are Phoenix, but NO. Surprise is Surprise and Glendale is Glendale and Phoenix can stop thinking it’s the best just because it’s the capital of Arizona!
Second, she’d like to tell you that just because she’s really defensive of Surprise doesn’t mean she liked it. Charlotte absolutely does not do heat. Temperatures above 90 are the bane of her existence. She really cannot handle it. Charlotte wore shorts and tank tops as often as she could – and she even went so far as to carry an umbrella around with her when it not only hit 100 but also went beyond that. Having the constant shade only helped a little and at some point, she went so far as to carry around one of those mini fans that are hooked up to a water bottle. Yeah, she carried around a water spraying fan just to stay cool. And she didn’t give a damn what people thought.
It had never been her choice when it came to moving. Well, yeah, she’d been able to make some suggestions. When her dad was told he was—Wow, hey, wait, you don’t even know much about her family yet, do you? Oops! Maybe you’ll stay interested if this story continues in the strange timeline so we’ll keep this up. (“People assume that time is a strict progression—” Charlotte, don’t you quote Doctor Who at me!) When her dad was told he was being transferred, there were a few options. They could have moved to Florida, New Hampshire, or Missouri. As a family, they listed all the pros and cons. Somehow, they ended up in St. Louis, Missouri.
This was all good for Charlotte. It wasn’t as bad as Surprise. Plus, St. Louis was, like, super tolerant to… well, non-humans? Nah, wait, gifted are still sort of humans. However it would be described, they didn’t mind vampires and witches and shapeshifters as much as everybody else did. It was neat. Charlotte didn’t mind going invisible as much in St. Louis. People weren’t entirely thrown off. She liked their confused expressions: “wasn’t there a girl there a minute ago?” Then they kind of remembered: “oh, right, I’m in St. Louis. This is normal.” Ha ha ha, oh how she got a laugh out of it.
Horowitz was pretty damn cool. She liked it. There were all sorts of people! They could do all sorts of things! Man, it was awesome and she loved it. Jamie was born not long after they’d settled in. So far, he’s all boring and normal which Charlotte tends to tease him about. Until her mom scolds her and doesn’t let her have dessert for the night. That usually sucks. The only other gifted in the family is Charlotte’s grandfather, on her dad’s side. He can turn invisible, too.
Except it’s WAY complex. He can turn his clothes invisible and things he’s touching invisible, as well as people. He can let people see him when he’s invisible; it takes lots of concentrating, though. Not to mention, he can create shields or barriers around himself (and others). It would definitely come in handy in case he ever got in a fight. Charlotte practices with him since she still has a LOT to learn. In fact, she can barely even see herself when she’s invisible. It’s absolutely lamesauce. All it takes is focus and thinking of being able to see herself, but it’s annoying. Her grandpa says it’ll come naturally eventually but she just wants everything to be easy all the time, so of course she would complain.
Charlotte’s in her junior year at Horowitz and she’s probably either known as that-girl-who-can-turn-invisible or maybe as crazy-hair-chick. One or the other.

” Cleo said breathlessly, pulling away from the hug for a moment and then wrapping her arms more tightly around the woman. “You’re back!! When did you get back?![/color]”
Alright, so the candy store in the food court was one of her guilty pleasures. So sue her! You try finding a place with fudge that delectable. It was outrageously expensive – even more so than Gingey’s, which was saying something. She spent almost all of her money on Gingey’s. Which made this place all the more surprising: that she’d be willing to spend more HERE than she would at her FAVORITE bakery.
That’s why she was at the mall today. Normally, Cleo would be swimming right now or hanging out at the aquarium, maybe pretend working so she could swim in the aquarium later like a mermaid with Robyn. Usually she wasn’t at the mall because she didn’t like the mall. Too many teenagers who thought they were the best thing since cookie dough brownies. As if, she would think, giving them disdainful little glares.
There was also the food court. Period. The food court just being here was tempting. It was taunting her. Every little food place (except for the Mexican and pizza ones because food court pizza was DISGUSTING) was calling out to her. Panda Express was playing on her love for Orange Chicken and Taco Bell knew how much she loved their cinnamon twists. It was always so difficult for her to leave the food court without getting a meal.
Today, though, she was focused. Determined. She was practically marching to the little candy shop in the corner, refusing to look any other way. The sounds of the mall-goers around her were weirdly quiet, like she was wearing earmuffs. That’s how determined she was. It was actually pretty cool. In fact, because she was so single-minded, she almost missed somebody calling her name. It wouldn’t have been entirely her fault. They were speaking quietly.
But this is Cleo and she’s always paying enough attention to hear her own name. There was also a little nagging in the back of her head, saying she recognized that voice. Stopping so quickly, a couple had to break apart and walk around her, Cleo whipped her head around. Her hair fell in her face and she had to push it all back before she could find who had said her name. The food court was crowded and for a moment, she thought maybe she’d been hearing things.
But then, right there, so obviously right there. Cleo shrieked. “KAYDEN!” Cleo pushed by a group of older women and skipped around the tables and chairs before launching herself at the blonde. “Kayden! Ohmygod!
It was entirely different with Kayden. Kayden had actually told Cleo she was leaving. Everybody else who had up and disappeared hadn’t said a word to her. And people wondered why Cleo was so afraid of commitment – why she hated getting close to people. It was because they left. That’s why. And it hurt. It really, really hurt. Kayden had said something, though. Kayden had told her. And Cleo had completely understood. It was why she was ecstatic now to see her, standing here in the food court.
Suddenly, Cleo was so very happy she’d decided she needed some fudge today.
