MALE - 18 - GIFTED - MATTHEW GRAY GUBLER
SCIENCE FICTION
DOUBLE FEATURE
Name: Charles Lawrence King. He goes by Charlie.
Gender: Male.
Species: Gifted. His power is more of a curse, really. If his skin touches anyone (not including the skin cells that brush off of him, of course, or his hair), they will contract a sort of fast acting cancer. It rapidly mutates and takes over the other cells in the body, leaving the victim mutated in a very sick way, and hopefully, they die. If they don't, they are forever deformed and likely unable to really live at all. In some cases, like with other gifted or shapeshifters or halfs of those, they'll gain or lose another power, or their other form will change, respectively. You could consider his genius to be another power, but he doesn't think so.
Age: Eighteen.
Sexuality: Straight, thank you very much, though he's literally locked down on desires. It's not like he can ever have a real relationship.
DOCTOR X
WILL BUILD A CREATURE
Face Claim: Matthew Gray Gubler (I don't care that he's 32, he can pass for younger!)
Hair: Medium brown, usually keeps it short-ish, but has let it grow out before.
Eyes: Brown. You can tell without hearing him that he's talking about something he loves because he gets a sort of twinkle in his eyes.
Height&Build: Thin, lanky. He's about 6'0", so yeah, he's pretty tall.
Special Traits: He always wears gloves, long socks, long sleeves, and closed-toed shoes. It's a precaution because of his power. He'll even wear a scarf sometimes. It gets uncomfortable, but he can deal. Also, an antidote he's discovered is a lot of Vitamin C on the site of contact and ingested within the first minute, so he keeps a squirt bottle of a solution high in Vitamin C and some pills with him at all times, and in his pockets or somewhere he can access them easily.

BRAD AND JANET
Personality: Charlie's your classic awkward nerd. While highly intelligent with an excellent memory, he's not very good with people. He only became a teacher because it's easy for him to lecture, but that's kind of his default setting: lecture mode. He can ramble on about a subject until the person understands, but usually people don't appreciate that and stop listening, missing an important piece that would leave them with a knowledge if they had bothered to pay attention, so they just end up confused. He does take precautions for his power, but he also applies that to other things, like making sure a class is actually paying attention before starting the lesson, or making sure he looks presentable before leaving his house, and making sure the hallways are clear before going through them. He always thinks before he acts, and prefers to plan as oppose to act outright.
Charlie knows he can probably never get a girl, unless he finds some sort of permanent cure for himself in general, and actually managed to master social skills. But he doesn't mind, though he can get a little blushy and stumble over words when he's talking to a pretty girl. Speaking of which: he really is trying hard not to find some of his students pretty. It sounds like he's really creepy, but he's not, promise. They're his age, after all, seeing as he teaches seniors and he's 18 due to skipping of grades. Which is another thing. Students tend not to respect him as a teacher, but as a peer, so he kind of has to deal with students being dicks to him. He's had to send some out of his classroom, and has had to remind the class that he's still a teacher and deserves an ounce of respect. "Did any of you skip three grades? No? Then be quiet." It's not that he puts himself above others, because he understands that there can be other geniuses in the world, but in all reality, he does have a much better understanding of the things he teaches that most of his students.

ANNE FRANCIS STARS IN
FORBIDDEN PLANET
Hometown: Los Angeles, California
Parents: Gregory & Elena King
Siblings: None.
History: Charlie is an odd sort of gifted, one born of human parents. His power didn't develop until pubery, thank the lord, but that meant he was originally in the system as a human. His parents loved him and took care of him and knew right away that he was going to be very intelligent. He could walk, talk, and read before his 2nd birthday, and write before his 4th. They enrolled him in kindgergarten a year early. He was a prodigy, and his parents made no effort to stop the press from adoring him. And by press, I mean they did a little segment on him on 60 Minutes. Charlie's intelligence and understanding grew as he did, and he was eventually able to skip three grades. In his 10th grade year, though, everything changed. He was going through changes everyone did (he was turning thirteen, after all, and trust me, he was teased for it), though he was going through another change, little did he know.
It was a human junior named Juliana. Charlie liked her because, while all of her friends were mean to him, she seemed nice, and had even asked him to prom. Though in all reality, she was just tricking him with plans to humiliate him at the dance. And she did just that, leading him to the stage where the band was after she was called up to sing. He should have known when she and the rest of the band quickly left the stage that he was in trouble. But he looked like a deer in headlights as the seniors and juniors began throwing an assortment of different substances at him, ruining his tuxedo and causing him to run off stage, completely messy. Maybe it was the stress of it all, or the sudden rush of emotions that caused the blood to rush to his cheeks, that triggered it. He saught out Juliana, who was laughing at him with the rest of her band, not facing him. Angry and confused and just wanting something, he tapped her on the shoulder. She turned around, looking at him and still laughing.
Then the shoulder he tapped twitched. She looked confused, then it twitched again, only more violently. Eventually her whole body began to convulse and Charlie stood back and watched in horror as Juliana began to look funny. And not funny-haha, funny-oh-god-what-even-is-that. Maybe not even that, she just looked gruesome. By the end, she didn't even look human. Her skin was transparent, her limbs were in places they shouldn't have been, and Juliana was screaming. That didn't last long though. The screaming ended, and so did the life of Juliana.
Charlie ran.
The upperclassmen who were in shock and horror gave him ample room to get out of that crowded room, weaving past the tables and making it to the door and running all the way home even though he wasn't athletic and it was kind of far.
When he got home, his parents asked him what was wrong, but he didn't respond, only ran into his room and locked the door. His parent knocked and called to him, but he didn't answer. He had to figure out what happened. It certainly wasn't normal, but it couldn't be abnormal, because he was human, right? After calming down a bit, sure his parents went to sleep at the late hour, he turned on his light and began to search the bookshelves in his room that replaced walls. Origins of Gifted[/s] told him that gifted could be born of humans. Giftedology: A Study of Gifteds told him that gifts/powers sometimes didn't appear until puberty.
Those hours of frantic research told him what he was.
He was a gifted, and that made him inhuman. His power made him a monster, a disease. A walking disease.
In the morning, the police showed up at his door, something he expected. He told his parents and the officers exactly what happened and what he found, perfectly calm, even if a few tears escaped. They took him downtown by protocol, though he warned them not to touch his skin. He had put on long sleeves and pants but he didn't have any gloves. He wasn't charged with anything, because he was a minor and he was registered as a human, but his parents did have to pay a fine for not having him registered properly. It wasn't a large one, and once it was paid off and he was in the system as 'Gifted*', they moved. It's not like Charlie would ever be able to go back to that school.
St. Louis was known for tolerance, so they moved there and enrolled him at Horowitz, making sure he had what he could manage of his skin covered. Everyone was a lot nicer to him at Horowitz, and he grew to love the school.
When he graduated at fifteen, that's when he could focus on his research for an antidote. He attended college at B. Charity University, intent on becoming a science teacher at Horowitz. During this time, he was granted access to a lab, and that's where he discovered a sort of antidote. When he mixed some of his skin cells with someone elses under a microscope, it was clear that a soloution that would kill the mutation within his own skin was needed. So he tested a variety of things, not coming up with anything. One day, a shapeshifter lab assistant assigned to him brought some of his lunch back with him. A juicebox, of all things. Orange juice. Like the airhead he was, he accidently got some on the skin sample, and Charlie yelled at him while checking it.
He stopped when he saw what was happening. The orange juice killed the mutations, and the cell was able to regenerate back to normal. Eventually, after testing the individual ingredients in orange juice, he found that it was the high content of vitamin C that helped. Some of the greatest things have been discovered by accident, after all. He made sure to carry a solution of vitamin C and some pills, just to make sure.
Charlie graduated top of his college class, too, and went on to teach at Horowitz. This is his first semester.

Jackson had been burned before, more times than just the one he had mentioned. There was also a time when he was cooking soup when his mom was sick and left the metal spoon with no handle in the pot to go check on her. When he came back, he grabbed it, and it hurt. Another time was when he was messing with the fireplace, he had left the ancient fire poker in the embers and went to go do whatever he did. Bam.
Moral of the story? Jackson should keep his train of thought on trac-
Okay, Grace looked especially beautiful today. Was it weird that he noticed that? Nah, friends called each other beautiful all the time. It wasn't a big deal. Besides, it's not like he had any negative intentions towards her. He loved Grace, but it was purely platonic, and he could deal with that fact. What he couldn't deal with were these realizations that kept coming up whenever he was around her, like how he referred to other girls as 'pretty' and only called Grace 'beautiful'.
Anyways.
"It's no problem, Hollie. It's what I'm here for!" Of course he knew that Alice in Wonderland was one of her favorite Disney movies. They had watched it one time during a visit like this, minus the whole burning and mustard smell that mixed with the lovely smell of macaroni and cheese. Of course she wanted to plate it herself. Immediately, Jackson knew which plate was his. Who else could eat that much food and still probably want seconds? Certainly not Grace Holladay, and she was the only other one here, so.
He was thankful that she was happy again. Hollie did bounce back after times of trouble, usually, so it was slightly expected but still appreciated just as much. Taking the plate, he plopped down on her couch, making sure not to spill any mac and chees. Not really because he didn't want to make a mess, but because he wanted to savor every noodle. Seriously. Setting it carefully down on the table, he got up and put the movie in. Yeah, Jack, putting in the movie before getting started on eating was a good idea.
